All our prices include all applicable surcharges. All our carriers charge volumetric weight, and some apply surcharges based on length & girth, but don’t worry, when you compare prices with Parcelhero, we include all applicable charges.

Please note if you are sending a pallet, make sure you enter the pallet dimensions when booking.

Freight collection

UPS operates 7.5 tonne vehicles as standard and so offer same day collection in many urban areas, even for large parcels. For other carriers like DHL & FedEx, you’ll need to book a day in advance so a tail lift vehicle with sufficient capacity can be dispatched.

Note: you may still have to provide assistance with loading.

Large parcel drop-off

Most carriers do not allow you to drop off a parcel weighing over 20kg. Additionally, you can drop at the local carrier depot if you’re in a hurry.

Shipping tips for oversize items

If you’re sending a very bulky item, we recommend cutting handles in the box, so it can be handled more easily. Don’t overpack the box. The bigger the box, the weaker it is in the middle. Use a double or triple lined box, and completely fill it with packaging material to help support the contents.

Sending heavy items tips

If your items over 40kg we recommend palletising it. Tip: if you are sending a pallet overseas then we recommend it’s fumigated and heat treated, as some countries have restrictions on the import of wooden items, including pallets.

Pallet delivery

If you’ve palletised your items, it will be delivered on a tail-lift vehicle. The driver may not have a pump truck to move the pallet, however, so the receiver may need to assist with unloading. If they don’t have a forklift, they can simply remove the shrink wrap and break it down.

Do not re-use a box

If you do the strength can be compromised.

Do not leave any straps exposed

They could catch on sortation equipment and cause damage.

Do not overpack the box

If you overpack you weaken the box, and it can easily burst when other boxes are placed on top of it.

Do not let anything stick out of the box

If anything is sticking out, or even touching the walls of the box, you will be unable to claim if any damage occurs.

Items you can't send

Parcelhero is not a furniture delivery service or removal company. We do not recommend shipping the following items unless they are professionally packaged and palletised.

  • Furniture

  • Large fragile items containing glass

  • Ceramics or porcelain, including bathware such as sinks and toilets

If you do send fragile items with us, you may not be able to claim in the event of damage, check our non-compensation list prior to shipping.
